Personality & Traits

Water deepens the Goat's emotional sensitivity and artistic nature, creating a personality of extraordinary empathy and creative imagination. The Water Goat absorbs the feelings of those around them like a sponge, producing both remarkable compassion and occasional emotional overwhelm. This element gives the Goat's creativity a flowing, dreamlike quality that can produce art of haunting beauty. The Water Goat needs protected creative space and emotionally stable companions to thrive.

Yin Water Goat

Every Water Goat year joins the Heavenly Stem 癸 (Guǐ) with the Earthly Branch 未 (Wèi). In the 60-year cycle each animal only meets stems of its own polarity, so every Water Goat is Yin.

The Yin Water Goat retreats into a rich inner world of feeling and imagination, producing art and insight that flows from the deepest wells of emotional experience.
